Starting off with traditional game viewing, the safari soon moves into more remote areas where close encounters with the wildlife, breathtaking landscapes and local people makes this an unforgettable safari off the beaten path.
Day 1
From Arusha, travel to Tamarind Camp for lunch. Afternoon safari
to Tarangire National Park. Dinner and overnight at Tamarind Camp.

Day 2
Gentle, guided nature-ethno-botanical or game walk in the Tamarind
Camp area. Game-viewing in Tarangire National Park. Dinner and
overnight at Tamarind Camp (FB)
Day 3
Drive on to Lake Manyara through the colorful market village of
Mto wa Mbu and on up the escarpment to Kirurumu Tented Lodge for
lunch. Afternoon game drives in Lake Manyara National Park. Dinner
and overnight at Kirurumu Tented Lodge. (FB)
Day 4
Enjoy an ethno-botanical nature walk or hike in the Kirurumu Lodge
area with our trained Maasai Guide, and then depart through the
lush farmlands to the Ngorongoro Conservation area. Descend from
the crater's rim to the grasslands and game 2,000 feet below.
Picnic lunch en route to Nainokanoka Camp. Guide-led walk to rim
of Olmoti Crater (40-50 minute walk). Return to Camp for dinner
and overnight in safari ridge tent (framed tent with verandah,
beds, table & chairs). (FB)
Days 5

Scenic drive to the jewel in the crown of the Ngorongoro Crater
highlands, the very beautiful Empakai Crater. Your camp is set
up on the Empakai Crater Rim, from where Oldonyo Lengai is sometimes
visible. Guided walks down the crater walls through forest to
the lake below and the surrounding area. Dinner and overnight
at Empakai Camp for two nights. (FB)
Day 7
Drive to the Ngorongoro Crater with picnic lunches. Afternoon
tour inside the crater. Drive across the crater and ascend the
walls to the luxurious Ngorongoro Serena Lodge for Dinner and

Days 8

Depart on game-drive to Serengeti National Park with picnic lunches.
Serengeti game drives. Dinner and overnight at Ndutu Safari Lodge
(or seasonal substitute) for two nights. (FB)
Day 10
Game drive & picnic lunches en route to Kirurumu Tented Lodge
for dinner and overnight. (FB)
Day 11
Return to Arusha with picnic lunches. Safari in Arusha National
Park. Set out to walk part of Mount Meru entering the lower grassy
slopes of the Mountain often frequented by Buffalo and warthogs.
The walk continues entering lower montane forest then the upper
montane forest, with glades in the forest where the shy bushbuck
may be spotted. The walk to Miriakamba hut takes about 3 hours.

Day 12
Descend to Momella gate, observing the birdlife and animals along
the way. Lunch in Arusha National Park. Depart after lunch to
Arusha in time to connect with onward arrangements. (BL)
