THE PRIVACY POLICY OF JAMBO! TRAVELS

Q. WHAT IS JAMBO! TRAVELS' PRIVACY POLICY?

A. We at Jambo! Travels believe completely in personal privacy. We do not place any "cookies" onto the computers of people who visit our website. In fact, we do not track visitors by any means at all (our website provider does record the e-mail address of the person's computer if it has been stored in the preference file in their browser; this is done as a matter of course by the service provider, and we do not record or utilize this information in any way).

When brochures are requested or an item is purchased through our website, the information that is revealed by the visitor/purchaser is kept completely confidential and is neither sold nor distributed to anyone or any company outside of Jambo! Travels except for our credit card authorizing company for credit card purchases made over the Internet.

We do not allow "pop-up" ads on our website because we find them to be intrusive and generally unwelcome.

You can rest assured that when you visit our website, only the information that you have intentionally given to us will be recorded and under no circumstances will any of your information be divulged to other parties except as noted above.

Q. WHAT IS A "COOKIE?"

A. In this day and age where personal information has become the stock and trade of many companies, the practice has developed wherein website will place files, called "cookies," onto the computers of people who visit the website.

Usually, the cookies track the Internet-viewing habits of the person and report back to the company which placed the cookie on the computer the next time the person visits the website from where the cookie originated.

While most cookies are innocuous, some cookies can track and report on a whole host of the computer-user's activities, all without letting the person know that it is happening. When cookies are accepted, a margin of personal security is given up because some cookies can access the files on the computer that will identify a person by name and address.

Q. HOW CAN I REJECT COOKIES OR KNOW WHEN COOKIES ARE USED?

A. Most web browsers have the option to alert you when cookies are being used. For example, in Netscape Navigator, you can choose to accept all cookies, accept only cookies that return to the originator, refuse all cookies and to be alerted before cookies are accepted.

To set your preferred setting, simply go to Edit on the menu and select Preferences. Once you are in the preferences window, select Advanced and choose which setting you prefer.
