TRAIL DETAIL & PRICES

THERE ARE 9 ROUTES ON THE MOUNTAIN WHICH VARY IN DIFFICULTY, ALL OF WHICH CULMINATE IN ONE OF THE THREE UPPER ROUTES FOR THE SUMMIT BID (WESTERN BREACH *, MARANGU OR MWEKA).

* Note: we use the name "Western Breach" instead of "Shira Route" (a route not really used anymore) because it is the normal ascent path for the Lemosho Glades Route to the summit. However, the Western Breach may be used for the final ascent by any trail that accesses the Shira Plateau (e.g., Machame, Rongai and Naro Moru via Summit Circuit North and Umbwe). Also, the Lemosho Glades Route, as well as others, may use the Mweka (Machame) summit ascent.

REGARDLESS OF THE ROUTE CHOSEN, ALL CLIMBERS MUST REGISTER AT ONE OF THE FOUR GATES WHERE PERMITS ARE AVAILABLE:
PARK HEADQUARTERS AT MARANGU GATE, NARO MORU, LANDOROSSI GATE OR MACHAME GATE.

JAMBO! TRAVELS MAKES ARRANGEMENTS FOR ALL ROUTES ON THE MOUNTAIN, AND, AS SUCH, WE ENDEAVOR TO MATCH CLIMBERS TO THE TRAIL THAT WILL GIVE THEM THE BEST CLIMB ON THE MOUNTAIN BASED UPON THE TIME OF YEAR THEY CLIMB, THEIR FITNESS LEVEL AND THEIR DESIRES.
